Yoga for me is my safe place. I get to use it as a technology and methodology to live a life that can feel awkward and uncomfortable sometimes. I want to create a space for any and every human, no matter what background you are coming from, to feel safe to explore and practice being perfectly imperfect. Yoga will meet you where you’re at.
When I found yoga in high school, I was addicted right away. I was fascinated by the mind-body connection and became an explorer of what that entails. Practicing for over 20 years, I know that yoga not only heals, but how important it is to the prevention of injury both physically and mentally.
My training consists of my 200hr at YogaWorks NYC and 300hr through Wanderlust Hollywood, completing the Yoga Alliance 500hr ERYT. I studied with the likes of Carrie Owerko, Schuyler Grant, Noah Mazé, and Joan Hyman, as well as a workshop with Annie Carpenter. I also am trained by Hala Khouri in yoga for trauma and teach a more Hatha style class in clinical settings.
My classes are creatively and thoughtfully sequenced while keeping in mind the parallels of our asana practice to what we can practice off the mat: balance between effort and ease to steady the vrittis. But don’t be fooled—I don’t take myself too seriously. Yoga is playful and full of exploration. Let’s laugh!
*Yoga satisfies my need for stillness . . . but cycling satisfies my need to party! I teach indoor cycling at HYPE Fitness in Silverlake, Los Angeles. Check out my Classes page or Instagram to find more info.
